NEW YORK NEW YORK – After an afternoon of committee meetings the James Beard Foundation board had dinner at the Four Seasons Restaurant. In the past I’ve posted a number of images from this iconic Mies van der Rohe institution. Mies designed the interior, including the furniture and the beaded curtains. Taken with my Sony Nex-7 and a Leica 24mm Summilux lens.
On this day one year ago: Lincoln Center fountain.

I have loved the Four Seasons since my first cocktail in 1973.
The Pool Room for dinner, the Bar for after work. Used to spend a lot of time there.
Darcy – Great hearing from you! The space is unchanged. The crowd around the bar in the early evening is still the best looking in New York. Tables in the bar for lunch are unobtainable – they are effectively rented from year to year by masters of the universe types. Julian presides over the whole show with discretion and a firm hand. It’s the Chartres Cathedral of restaurants.
