NEW YORK NEW YORK – I’m continuing to peer into alleys. It’s getting better. Here’s one from today. Also on the street with my Noctilux/

On this day two years ago (day 1301): Bathroom.
NEW YORK NEW YORK – A lot of images today. I bolted my f.95 50mm Noctilux lens onto to my Leica Monochrom today and headed out into the world shooting my usual stuff. This is a very special lens, remarkable actually. I used a three stop neutral density filer which permits shooting in daylight at f.95, which permits very selective focus and demonstrates this lens’s unique out of focus signature. I could decide which image I like best so I’ve posted four.
Day 2030 of one photograph every day for the rest of my life.
On this day three years ago (day 934): World Trade Center II
ON THE ACELA SOMEWHERE IN CONNECTICUT – Coming back from Boston. I went to Boston today to meet with Jonathan Singer at Singer Editions who is working on a set of prints for a show that we’re putting together. Usually Boston provides ample material for my photo a day project, but today for some reason I constantly missed images, always a half beat late. So nothing worthwhile came out of thirty or so tries. I knew it wasn’t good so I tried a few images out the train window, which were the keepers of the day.
Day 2029 of one photograph every day for the rest of my life.
On this day five years ago (day 203): Sunset on the High Line.
NEW YORK NEW YORK – I took a walk through Central Park today, familiar terrain for millions of iPhoners and tourists of all nations. Again, Spring is enchanting here, two weeks of payback for five months of grueling Winter.
Day 2028 of one photograph every day for the rest of my life.
On this day three years ago (day 932): Meh – obviously a distracted day.
NEWBURGH NEW YORK – I drove up here today to visit my friend Luke Pontifell, founder of Thornwillow Press. My mission: to photograph Lukes extensive collection of printing presses and related equipment. A glorious day.
Day 2027 of one photograph every day for the rest of my life.
On this day two years ago (day 1297): Truck
NEW PRESTON CONNECTICUT – Falling into the Spring trap here. At least the overall tonality is dark. After this year’s savage winter Spring really is irresistible. It only last for a few weeks so we can get back to serious business soon.
Day 2026 of one photograph every day for the rest of my life.
On this day three years ago (day 930): Vacant Lot. Originally posted in color.
