WARREN CONNECTICUT – Another day out with the big guy, my Leica S2. From around our place in Warren, the second smallest town in Connecticut. Sorry for the dog.
On this day last year: My first shots with a Leica Monochrom. This really works for me.

TODI – A really long day of travel. First by van from Cortina to Venice; then hang out in the car rental agency while the find our car; then drive to Todi with a stop on the way at the Brunello Cucineli factory and outlet. We made it in time for a dazzling dinner, photographed with my Leica Monochrom and the usual lens.
On this day last year: Porta Nuova.
VOLS AM SCHLERN AND ON THE TRAIL – After a leisurely breakfast we finally hit the trail. Al images taken with my Leica Monchrom camera and 50mm Sumilux Asph. lens.
Local scenery in Vols:
Our guide, Ken Fuhrer (yes, he really is our leader), of Walker Ryder in Teluride, which organized our trip.

Another couple at the refugio where we had lunch:
On this day last year: Wedding in Todi.
BARRYTOWN NEW YORK – We drove over here this morning (Barrytown is a few miles north of Rhinebeck and a few miles west of Red Hook) for the wedding of two friends, Bill Clegg & Van Scott. As usual at these things my shortcomings as a wedding photographer were manifest, but I did get a few images of Francesca (our daughter) and Bill. Here you go:
NEW YORK NEW YORK – A foodie day. A friend and I sponsor an annual Edwardian dinner so here we are after a great deal of wine. Still standing at least. Leica Monochrom and 35mm lens.
Halal dog? Same camera.
On this day last year: Joe Kanon.
NEW YORK NEW YORK – We had ten for dinner tonight. I catered it myself. The trick in this number is to minimize last-minute preparation, for example by planning on side dishes that are served at room temperature, spring veggies with a bagna cauda sauce (substituting finely chopped chorizo for the anchovies), green pea puree and a warm potato salad. The entree, a butterflied leg of lamb marinated in yogurt, was an easy last minute roast, so the only last minute cooking activity was carving the lamb. Here we are at the table taken with my Leica Monochrom and 50mm Summillux lens.
On this day last year: chrome column.
WARREN CONNECTICUT – This is not another cheap shot of Basil the Norfolk Terrier. It’s actually a picture of Francesca. She’s the out of focus one in the back with the top of her head cut off.
Taken with my Leica S medium format camera.
On this day one year ago: Scouting.
