NEW YORK NEW YORK – Our daughter, Francesca, is living with us while her apartment in Brooklyn is being redone. Here she is on a miserable winter day trying to find a ray of sun.
Day 1,954 of one photo every day for the rest of my life.
NEW YORK NEW YORK – We maintain a tradition of getting the family together for dinner on Sunday for a . . . Sunday family dinner. This evening we caught up with Laura and Alexander and of course Baby V, who is featured here today. Yes I know that I’ve promised no cute dogs and kids on this site, but we’ll all just have to live with an occasional exception. The elephant is a gift from India.
Day 1,942 of one photo every day for the rest of my life.
JODHPUR INDIA – We’re in a small boutique hotel out in the countryside here; we’ve spent our time visiting villages, walking the countryside and in general having non-urban experiences. Great opportunities to meet people.
Day 1,939 of one photograph every day for the rest of my life.
NEAR UDAIPUR INDIA – Still at the Leopard camp. We’ve seen a few leopards but not close enough to photograph (we really didn’t expect to capture any images of them because we didn’t come equipped to shoot wildlife). The scenery here is sensational; this semi-arid area reminds me of Southern Utah, but built in granite rather than sandstone.
Day 1930 of one picture every day for the rest of my life.
On this day last year (day 1,565): Old lens. I spent this day last year exploring the capabilities of an 85mm Carl Zeiss lens from 1939 – one of a number of vintage lenses that I shoot on my Leica Monochrom. Not a very interesting picture.
NEW YORK NEW YORK – Self-explanitory? I don’t post many pictures of recognizable people here. Based on feedback on my Twitter feed (where I now have 66,000 followers) pictures of people, even moderately famous people, are of limited interest to my online audience. This may be because I’m better at places and things than people, but some objectively good images of people have been largely ignored online. Still . . . I post the images that I like whatever the subject. Just to make sure that I don’t loose your interest I’ve also included a second image for the day, a water tank in nice light.
Day 1,910 of one photograph a day for the rest of my life.
NEW YORK NEW YORK – If you’ve been following this site for a while you may have noticed that I’ve made some minor changes. We’ve made pictures a bit small to speed page loading, and have generally made the site more robust. Keeping this thing going is surprisingly similar to a job.
Day 1,881 of one picture every day for the rest of my life.
On this day four years ago (day 440): Riverside Drive South. We seem to have a “look up at streetlight” motif on December 9.
