WARREN CONECTICUT – I captured a lovely image today but it cost me dearly. It’s an image of a slow tree near the edge of a field here. I’ve been thinking for some time about how to capture it and got it today. A very low angle with some ferns in the foreground, isolating the tree against the sky, with a fortunate halo of clouds. Very me. In this case my solo person is a tree. To get the angle I had to press back against an overgrown tree line and get down on the ground. In my concentration I didn’t notice the poison ivy (which I’m ordinarily ultra alert for) and I picked up a deer tick. Not good at all. I’ve sorted out the deer tick with a two day blast of antibiotics so I’m free of Lyme symptoms. but the poison ivy is something else. It affects me badly so it looks like I’ve got bubonic plague running up my left arm, with various spots elsewhere where I touched myself. I’m a misery of calamine lotion. This too will pass, but it really takes two or three weeks. Ugh.
I hope that you like the image.
Day 2137 of one photograph every day force rest of my life.
On this day five years ago (day 311): Maasai Mara. Another solo tree.

good picture-worth the efforts! hope you get well soon.
Suffering for your art!
Reminds me of a couple of HS friends who had an intimate encounter in a field of Poison Oak… 45 years ago
Hope you heal quickly

It is a great shot! Congrats on that. But sorry to hear of the consequences. Hope the itchy subsides soon.
