NEW YORK NEW YORK – I spent the better part of the day downtown in the World Trade Center area. Some good images at the 9/11 Memorial. Some touristy images around the Oculus transportation hub. All images shot with a 24-70 zoom on my Sony A7Rii. I don’t ordinarily work with zooms because they are never as good corner to corner as the best primes shooting wide open, which is where I like to work. This one is pretty good, but is heavy and bulky, negating the small size advantage of the Sony.
Day 2882 of one photograph every day for the rest of my life.
On this day three years ago (day 1786): Hmmm . . .
NEW MILFORD CONNECTICUT – I’ve ragged on in the past about what a crap town this is. (For the uninitiated “crap town” is actually a term of art. Follow this link: crap towns.) I decided this Memorial Day to give the town a break and followed a road sign that said “9/11 Memorial”. It led me to a parking lot behind the train station where I found this. Captured with my Leica M9 and Dual Range Summicron, two frames stitched.
Memorial Day New Milford
NEW YORK, NEW YORK – I took a walk after a meeting on West 12th Street. St. Vincents Hospital, which recently closed, was the where may of the first casualties came. This is an ad hoc memorial in the block south of St. Vincents.
