MANHATTAN – I’m shooting wide for the next week or so. I’m exploring a new lens: a Sony 12-24 G lens. Preliminary testing suggests that it is very, very good at the wide end of its range, through 18mm or so. It’s wide indeed and probably the best idea for Sony A7riii shooters who need ultra wide. Here it is at the Bloomberg Building at 12mm.

Day 3130 of one photograph every day for the rest of my life.

On this day last year (day 2765): Flying my DJI drone inside. Not really a recommended practice.

NEW YORK NEW YORK – Busy day getting things done before tomorrow’s birthday trip to Amsterdam. Here’s the Bloomberg Building caught as I walked through it on the way to the office.

NEW YORK NEW YORK – I met with our friend and designer Antonella Scarsini at B&B Italia to look at some furniture. I captured a nice angle on the Christmas Tree in the courtyard of the Bloomberg Building and a bowl on a tabletop, both with my iPhone. Some work in post: grunging Bloomberg and percolating the bowl.

NEW YORK NEW YORK – This is a busy week for me so I’m tucking my daily photos into odds and ends of time. I spent the day in my office but kept an eye out for good or interesting light in the Manhattan cityscape outside of my windows. I’m shooting with my Panasonic GH2 because it’s the lightest and most compact camera that I have and the selectivity of the very long telephotos effectively let me cheat, not having the time or space to actually get close to an interesting subject. Here’s the Bloomberg Building out my office window:
