WARREN CONNECTICUT – We spent the better part of the daylight hours today working on Christmas decorations. I’ve included three views of our Christmas tree process. There’s a link to a video below, which I don’t know how to actually include as a video on this site.
WARREN CONNECTICUT – This is more like it. Children and grandchild have arrived so the pace has picked up. Basil the Norwich Terrier seems to be in the middle of everything, looking for food in the Christmas wrappings.

WARREN CONNECTICUT – Here’s where the week delay between shooting and posting hurts. Here’s a perfectly fine, if boring (tedious, really) Christmas image take four days before Christmas when it was timely and posted today, when it is stale. Oh well . . . I live and learn. Not a great day photo-wise.

NEW YORK NEW YORK – I’m keeping up the thread on old lenses. I went out today with my 1959 Leica Dual-Range Summicron. I’ve shot this lens extensively in the past two years, but almost always at f5.6 and higher, a range where this lens behaves like a modern Leica lens (its character is very similar to the current 35mm Summicron). Today I resolved to shoot it at f2.0, where it has a lower contrast, more dreamy quality. Here is one from the street:
I also resolved to try the 1937 Carl Zeiss Sonnar on my Monochrom relying on close focus and guessing at longer focus distances. Here you go.
