WARREN CONNECTICUT – At last, some decent light. Passing storm clouds provided wonderful, dramatic light here this afternoon. We had some friends over in the evening so I’m providing a snapshot.

WARREN CONNECTICUT – I shot wide today. Early spring is winding down here but the light is lovely.

On this day two years ago (day 579): North Woods, Central Park. I reviews May 17, 2011 as I prepared this post and concluded that I liked one of the outtakes better than I like the image I posted. Here you go:
WARREN CONNECTICUT – At last. A sunny day. We’re in full Spring flower here, which I’m of course presenting in black and white. This hopefully mitigates the picture post card effect that is this season’s biggest risk.
Day 1,669 of one picture every day for the rest of my life.
WARREN and WASHINGTON CONNECTICUT – We dropped in this evening to see our friend Barbara Robinson and to visit her rain-soaked garden, called Brush Hill. The first image below is looking up in our garden; the is from Barbara’s.
As you will see from the tiny red note below the date above this was posted on May 17. Yesterday this site was down for about four hours for maintenance and migration to a new, faster, server. This is a sign of success: the upgrade was in response to increases in traffic. We’re sorry for any inconvenience.

On this day two years ago (day 938): Outside the ICP. Tree frames stitched.
WARREN CONNECTICUT and NEW YORK NEW YORK – A tale of good light and not so good light today. There were 15 minutes of profoundly beautiful light this afternoon in Connecticut. It was fleeting, as the sun dodged in an out of clouds. I shot what was at hand, a large tree, a mundane subject hereabout, with my Leica Luxochron 50mm lens wide open to blur the background. I ended up stitching three frames. Then later in the evening a dinner parter for a friend of long standing (not pictured here). I only shoot with available light which at dinners is often poor for portraiture. Anyway, here you go.
