WARREN CONNECTICUT – I’ve spent the day here having what feels like a speed bag workout with my day job. Not much time or space for photography. At around 8:00 I decided to see what I could do handheld with my Leica Monochrom around the house in near darkness with my 24mm F1.4 Leica Summilux lens.

WARREN CONNECTICUT – Another day of snowshoeing. Lovely light but the snow is less pristine and I find myself repeating yesterday. It would be nice to take a break but that’s not really an option in the photo-a-day world. Here’s something from my Leica S and 120 mm Summarit lens.

WARREN CONNECTICUT – Well the blizzard really did arrive: two feet of snow and major winds. Remarkably we haven’t suffered any damage or power outage. By the afternoon it cleared (but still high winds) so Maria and I took the opportunity to snow shoe. All images taken with my Leica S medium format camera and a 35mm lens.

NEW PRESTON CONNECTICUT – Here I am shooting with my Leica Monchrom and Carl Zeiss Jena Sonnar 5cm f1.5 lens from 1936. The lens was designed to be mounted on a Contax rangefinder camera so it requires a complex adapter to be attached to my modern Leica. Infinity focus is OK; close focus is a little flakey. Here are some samples. Interestingly the images look like they come from the 1930s.

NEW YORK NEW YORK – I spent today (photo wise) messing around with my new Leica S, Leica’s medium format competitor to Hasselblad and Phase One. There continues to be a lot to learn. Here are a couple of examples.

LITCHFIELD CONNECTICUT – Still working with my Leica Monochrom and an 80 year old Carl Zeiss Jena Sonnar lens, which produces a lovely “glow”. I’ve shot this church many times in this is one of my favorites. Three frames stitched in Photoshop.

WARREN CONNECTICUT – Another foggy day. This seems to be going on forever. Here I am talking about the weather, but remember that my photographic interests tend towards landscape and the weather really does play an important role out here. At least in Connecticut I can do moody, which is greatly in evidence. Here are two images with my new Leica S – the first with my 35mm Summarit lens and the second three frames stitched with my 120mm Maco lens. The files are big. My aging Apple desktop tower is straining under the load.
