VILLEDIEU FRANCE – After a second long day of travel we find ourselves outside this tiny village in the southern Côtes du Rhône, near Gigondas and Beaumes de Venise. We’re here to celebrate a major birthday of our friend Kathy Robbins. Much more later.

MORTEFONTAINE and PARIS FRANCE – We left Mortefontaine for Paris this morning. After doing a bit of work I took the subway to the Bois de Boulogne to visit the new, highly acclaimed Fondation Louis Vuitton, a Frank Gehry structure that will house a collection in formation. The building is a triumph, Bilbao with translucent glass substituted for the titanium. I’ll be back.

MORTEFONTAINE FRANCE – We spent a perfect Easter weekend with friends in the countryside near this village north of Paris. The light was between interesting and lovely so I had trouble editing: you’re going to have to suffer through four images.

BIARRITZ – We made the one hour drive here this morning from San Sebastian – a very easy day trip. The weather was overcast and rainy (commonplace here) but we had a lovely lunch at a fish place by the beach. kWe were back in San Sebastian for an early evening stroll through the old town.
