NEW YORK NEW YORK – Did I mention that Francesca broke her foot and moved back to our apartment for a few weeks to avoid her walk-up? Well here she is with (at least here’s her cast) taken with my Leica Monochrom and a 24mm Summilux lens.
In the afternoon I flew down to DC for a James Beard Foundation event at the State Department. i arrived a few minute early so I had a chance to catch the Vietnam Memorial with my iPhone.
On this day last year: Rainy day.
NEW YORK NEW YORK – -Look’s like Francesca’s back home again. She has interrupted her post-bar pre-work travel to come home to have here broken foot repaired at the Hospital for Special Surgery. She’s cheerful under the circumstances. Taken with my Leica Monchrom and 35mm Suumilux lens. The Monochrom continues to wow me.
On this day last year: Terry Tanner’s Barn.
WARREN CONNECTICUT – A dislocated weekend. For today and tomorrow we’ve ceded our house to our daughter, Francesca, for a bachelorette party that she’s throwing for a friend. Dangerous territory. So we’re camping out for the weekend at Doug and Judy Hamilton’s house because they’re on the way to Salt Lake via the California Zephyr (a train!). I spent today photographing Doug and Judy’s house with my Alpa Max and Phase One IQ 180 back. Then the bachelorettes descended on us for cocktails, which I captured in the waining light with my M9 and a 1954 50 mm Dual-Range Summicron lens. Here you go:
On this day last year: a picture of a camera. Not really that cool.
NEW YORK NEW YORK – I stopped by Francesca’s apartment to help her put it back together after a paint job. Then a Yankees game against Texas. This was a sensational day for baseball (but the Yankees lost 10-6) – through a friend we had Legends seating which as you will see is about as good as it gets. Both images with my Leica M9 and 18mm Super Elmar lens.
On this day last year: really wide.
NEW YORK NEW YORK – Here we are in the kitchen this evening catching up. Taken with my Fuji X Pro-1 and an 18mm Fuji lens (28mm equivalent.
On this day one year ago: on the High Line.
NEW YORK NEW YORK – I spent the late afternoon (after a more or less full day at my day job) preparing for a dinner party. Cooking well is a bit of a curse – people come to expect it. The menu was all cook-in-advnace summer stuff: vitello tonato, salade a la russe, an onion tart and a tossed salad. Anyway, here are images with my Fuji X Pro.
On this day last year: Big Shadow.
