NEW YORK NEW YORK – I took exactly one picture today. Actually three frames that I stitched in Photoshop (i use stitching as a zoom lens). It’s an alley – I have an ongoing thread in progress on alleys and this was a good one so I knew that I had my image for today.
What interests me about this is the fact that the vines are invading this very dark passageway – they just don’t seem to give up even under hostile circumstances. The image suggests exploring the relationship between that natural and man-made environments in cities. I have a fair number of images that are consistent with this theme, and I’ll be working on it going forward.
Day 2420 of one photograph every day for the rest of my life.

NEW YORK NEW YORK – I spent the day out with one camera and one lens: my Leica Monochrom camera and the amazing f.95 50mm Leica Noctilux. Apart from its prodigious size and weight it’s my favorite lens. I daylight I shoot with a .9 neutral density filter (effectively sunglasses) so I can shoot wide open without overexposing.
