NEW YORK NEW YORK – Here’s one of my favorite views of New York at one of my favorite times of day to photograph.
Day 1,887 of one picture every day for the rest of my life.
On this day five years ago )day 61): Brooklyn.
NEW YORK NEW YORK – Here’s one of my favorite views of New York at one of my favorite times of day to photograph.
Day 1,887 of one picture every day for the rest of my life.
On this day five years ago )day 61): Brooklyn.
NEW YORK NEW YORK – I took a walk today in Midtown in the rain and captured 432 Park Avenue, the Nordstrom Tower, which for now will be the tallest residential structure in the world. There are various points of view on this, with some feeling that it’s a blight on the skyline, and others suggesting that it reflects the continued dynamism of Manhattan. Your choice on this issue.
Day 1,875 of one picture every day for the rest of my life.
On this day two years ago (day 1,145): Spin meets Basil, who uncharacteristically is in repose. This violates my long-standing rule against cute kids and dogs or other pets on this forum, so I’m taking the position that his is actually a picture of the vase in the background, which is from Spin in Shanghai, even though it is out of focus.
NEW YORK NEW YORK – So there is a massive store under construction on Third Avenue in the 80s. It’s rumored to be a Whole Foods, which would be a welcome addition to the neighborhood. For now it’s a massive green wall. Here it is, two frames stitched. Also here is my return to “Perfect Brows”.
Day 1,874 of one picture every day for the rest of my life.
On this day five years ago (day 48): Seagrams Building at night. One of my personal favorites. Actually a lovely image.
NEW YORK NEW YORK – I got a bit desperate today and ended up shooting the alley behind our building here in the dark.
Day 1,872 of one picture every day for the rest of my life.
On this day last year (day 1,507): Shower.
NEW YORK NEW YORK – Another day shooting with my f.95 Noctilux lens. I’m using this lens mostly in daylight, so I keep a neutral density filter on it (in effect sunglasses) so I can shoot it wide open, which provides its special look. Today I did a still life at home with mirrors, one my favorites of this sort of thing in the past five years. I also shot a detail from our building, and a “lone person” in midtown.
Day 1,868 of one picture every day for the rest of my life.
On this day five years ago (day 41): Riverside Drive from the bottom.
NEW YORK NEW YORK – Still shooting the Noctilux, mostly wide open. Today I’m out with a 1.8 neutral density filter (six f-stops of darkening) which lets me shoot wide open on this sunny day. Here we go with a fairly common subject for me, two frames stitched.
Day 1,855 of one picture every day for the rest of my life.
On this day five years ago (day 29): Birthday party.
NEW YORK NEW YORK – Back to visually happy. I caught the Chanin Building (the Chrysler Bauilding’s neighbor) in fine light, then later in the day apart-like space near the UN in the rain. As always taken with my talented Leica Monochrom.
Day 1,838 of one picture every day for the rest of my life.
On this day three years ago (day 742): Rain.
