Day 3261 of one photograph every day for the rest of my life.
On this date five years ago (day 1435 of one photo every day): Helmsley Building. Technically defective but well seen.
MANHATTAN – For rent signs are popping up for retail spaces all over Manhattan. Shot with my Leica M10-P.
Day 3259 of one photograph every day for the rest of my life.
On this date last year (day 2894 of one photo every day): Drone shot of Nettleton Hollow Road, Washington CT.
MANHATTAN – The Leica M10-P arrived today! I charged up the battery, strapped on my APO-Summicron 50mm lens (which I call the Luxochron – one of the lenses I didn’t sell) and went out to shoot some familiar territory. It’s great to be back shooting with a rangefinder – the frame lines really do change the way you see. I’ll be spending the next month or so getting familiar with this camera. The first image is a three frame stitch.
Day 3246 of one photograph every day for the rest of my life.
On this date seven years ago (day 689): tree line Warren CT shot seven years ago with my medium format Phase One camera (subsequently sold). I’ve re-edited this image, completely re-imagining it.
MANHATTAN – I walked up Third Avenue with my Sony A7riii today. The light turned interesting for a few moments.
Day 3231 of one photograph every day for the rest of my life.
On this date last year (day 2866 of one photo every day): Sunspots shot as a practice session for the eclipse that we saw on in South Caroline on day 2867.
MANHATTAN – A major thunder storm turned the usually pedestrian view out my dining room window into magic. I tried to catch a lightning strike but missed them all.
Day 3218 of one photograph every day for the rest of my life.
On this date four years ago (day 1757 of one photo every day): Brooklyn steps
MANHATTAN – I had an active day of walking around Foley Square and the financial district in good urban light with my Sony A7riii and the Sony 16-35mm f/2.8 GM lens. It’s not my style to shoot zooms because they never perform at the same level as the best primes, and they are large and heavy. But this one is good. Corner to corner stitches with the lovely Zeiss 55mm f/1.8 are better, but you can’t reliably stitch in many situations. This lens is a keeper.
I’m running through my inventory of Sony E-mount lenses to decide which are keepers – this one clearly is.
Day 3217 of one photograph every day for the rest of my life.
On this day three years ago (day 2121 of one photo every day): Melancholy day
MANHATTAN – My hat inventory needs some help – I loose hats and summer Panama’s get tatty after a few years of use. So . . . I went to JJ Hat Center on lower Fifth Avenue to stock up. Since I don’t do selfies you’ll have to guess at what i bought.
Day 3206 of one photograph every day for the rest of my life.
On this date three years ago (day 2110): Sixth Avenue
