NEW YORK NEW YORK – A beautiful, clear, but very cold day. A nice day to photograph Manhattan and get numb fingers and toes in the process. I’m continuing to work well in black and white – the photo-a-day-for-the-rest-of-my-life project has really helped me achieve greater clarity and consistency in my work. Still relying on the Leica Monochrom as my primary camera.
Day 1,597 of at least one picture every day for the rest of my life.
On this day two years ago (day 866): Chrysler Building.
NEW YORK NEW YORK – Another day on non-elegant work. An image of a local post office with my usual remote stranger. An image of a mirror in a diner with a surprising elegant New York bridges motif.
Day 1,594 of one picture every day for the rest of my life.
On this day one year ago: Beast Friends Forever.
NEW YORK NEW YORK – Looking up on Park Avenue.
Day 1,589 of one photograph every day for the rest of my life.
On this day two years ago: Range light. Looks like we have a theme today of long, skinny images.
NEW YORK NEW YORK – You’ve heard of dirty dancing and dirty weekends. Well this is the dreaded time of dirty snow. The streets in New York aren’t cleaned when there is heavy snow so as the snow melts the debris deposited as the snow accumulated ends up on the surface. Ugly. I shot dirty snow today because it’s pervasive. There wasn’t much else to look at. Shot with my infrared camera.
Day 1,587 of one a daily picture for the rest of my life.
On this day four years ago: Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial. Once again I look back at an infrared images of Maya Lin’s Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial, which always moves me.
NEW YORK NEW YORK – A clear day at last but I’m not fully in the moment so blah images. I sometimes shoot infrared in the winter – rarely in the summer because I don’t like the white leaves effect. Here’s an “out my window” with a digital camera that I had modified a few years ago so that it sees infrared only.
Day 1,586 of at least one photograph a day for the rest of my life.
On this day two years ago: Gasparilla Island.
NEW YORK NEW YORK – A nice sunny day for a walk in Central Park with a camera and boots with a good grip. This is Valentines Day. I gave Maria the red crystal heart. She noticed that I have used the crystal heart thing in the past and commented that the collection idea is nice but perhaps not as nice as a pair of shoes or an article of jewelry. I guess I need to diversify a bit on my Valentines giving. I’ve edited this post to include the first image below, which is my favorite for today. My travels separated me from the file when I first wrote this post; we’re rejoined now so here it is.
Day 1,583 of one photo every day for the rest of my life.
On this day four years ago: Episcopal Church, Morris Connecticut.
