NEW YORK NEW YORK – I went shopping for Valentines Day today and found this red crystal heart. I’ve given Maria other crystal hearts so it will be joining a growing collection.
Day 1,581 of a photo every day for the rest of my life.
ANTIGUA – Still here. Slogging away at relaxing on the beach. If you know of another daily photo shooter who does a better job with the tropics send me a link.
Day 1,574 of one picture a day for the rest of my life.
MUSTIQUE ST. VINCENT AND THE GRENADINES – There are exactly four places to get food or drink on this island. One of them is Firefly where we went today for a cocktail at sunset. Here are some images taken with my Leica Monochrom and a 50mm Summilux lens.
WARREN CONNECTICUT – New Years day. Slightly hung over and out of sorts. I took exactly one picture today, a picture of Maria walking the dog. On reviewing it I was horrified to find out that it looked like a terrible ’50s snapshot – harsh and over exposed in the bright sun. This with my Leica MM and 35mm Summilux lens, demonstrating that good equipment doesn’t make good pictures. I downsized it, moved to my iPhone and processed with Plastic Bullet, which adds a bunch of grunge. It looks pretty much like a ’50s snapshot badly processed.
MUSTIQUE – Our last day in the Grenadines. I’ve gotten a strong positive reaction to the photo of Maria’s bathing suit below (taken with my Leica Monochrom and 50mm Noctilux lens), probably because that it carries a suggestion that Maria has shed it and is nearby sunning. Actually she’s off packing and the swimsuit is just on the post drying off. Context is all. Then a selfie of me in a mirror that I quite liked.
BETWEEN NEW YORK and BARBADOS – More insides of airplanes. I seem to spend a lot of my life supporting the air transportation system. We are on our way to Barbados, where we will connect to a small plane for Mustique. Here’s Maria in repose (a rare sight) captured with my iPhone.
