NEW YORK NEW YORK – Another busy work week so I’m catching pictures as I can as I make my way around Manhattan.
Day 1,593 of one picture every day for the rest of my life.
On this day three years ago: Central Park Reservoir.

Day 1,593 of one picture every day for the rest of my life.
On this day three years ago: Central Park Reservoir.
NEW YORK NEW YORK – The weather is getting to me. A blah image on Park Avenue.
Day 1,590 of one photograph a day for the rest of my life.
On this day four years ago: Walpack Arts Center. An odd, tiny building photographed in infrared.
NEW YORK NEW YORK – Looking up on Park Avenue.
Day 1,589 of one photograph every day for the rest of my life.
On this day two years ago: Range light. Looks like we have a theme today of long, skinny images.
NEW YORK NEW YORK – A cold brisk day for a walk from the Upper East Side to Midtown. Some just ok images, then I ran into a pedestrian 50s era white brick building that was transformed by reflections. Three frames stitched in Photoshop and converted to black and white. One of my favorites for a while. Then later in the day in my office.
Day 1,579 of one picture every day for the rest of my life.
On this day last year: Tanner Hill Road.
On this day three years ago: Film!
NEW YORK NEW YORK – Cold and clear today. Icy. Here’s the Union Club on Park Avenue and steam venting into the very cold air. I didn’t recognize this image in my first pass editing the day’s work. I came back to it in desperation, but it came out quite well. It’s the image that I was looking for shooting steam vents.
Taken with my Leica Monochrom and 50mm Summilux.
This is my 1,567th day of my daily photo blog.
On this day one year ago: Basil Charles.
NEW YORK NEW YORK – This is a day of pre-holiday running around, so my head is not into the visual. My eyes are unengaged. Shopping lists abound. This was a day for my Leica Monochrom and 1959 Dual Range Summicron lens. I shot only at f2.0 today where this lens has a somewhat lower contrast signature. Here are a couple of “look ups”.
On this day last year: Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church.
NEW YORK NEW YORK – I got up early and walked down Park Avenue — my morning commute — to a day of meetings. I got sunrise out our window with a Leica M and 280mm lens (which is fussy to use because focus is critical and it demands good tripod technique), more sunrise on Park Avenue with my Leica Monochrom, and a grid within a grid out the window of a conference room later in the day with my iPhone. I’ve posted them in reverse order because I like the grid image best.
On this day last year: The Grenadines.
