WARREN CONNECTICUT – I got up for sunrise this morning had had lovely light in a park-like area that we maintain here. As usual taken with my Leica Monochrom and Leica 50mm f2.0 Summichrom Asph. lens.
Day 2129 of one photograph every day for the rest of my life.
WARREN CONNECTICUT – Did I mention that I’m feeling stale on my landscape images. I’m very pleased with the progress that I’m making on my urban material, but less so with what’s going on up here. The remedy, I think, is to spend some time in galleries and museums looking at landscape. I’ll keep at it.

On this day two years ago (day 1324): 857 Riverside Drive. Rephotographing a 1937 Berenice Abbott image.
PINE PLAINS NEW YORK – We drove up here today to deliver some glasses to a friend. Lovely morning light. Taken with my Leica Monochrom Model 246 and a 59 mm Summicron lens.
Day 2,052 of one photograph every day for the rest of my life.
On this day two years ago (day 1322): A classic look up. One of my favorites from this project.
WARREN CONNECTICUT – More familiar ground with my new Leica Monochrom 246. Today I shot some very old lenses that don’t couple properly with the rangefinder but which can be focussed using the camera’s live view feature. The first image is a with a 1936 Karl Zeiss 50mm Sonar f2.0 mounted on the camera with an exotic Contax to Leica adapter from the 1950s. Next is Basil wearing a t-shrt to cover up his stitches so he can’t scratch them.
Day 2039 of one photograph every day for the rest of my life.
NEW YORK NEW YORK – Spring is a tough time in the photo-a-day world. We’ve had a long, hard winter to the temptation to focus on the magic of nature’s rebirth is overwhelming, but no one is going to advance the state of the art in photography by shooting daffodils. The best solution may be to shoot away at buds and flowers, and then keep them to myself. There were some trees in bloom on Park Avenue – as far as I can tell they are Callery Pears (which aren’t actually pear trees) – but at least it’s grim and rainy. The first is a conventional view south.
Day 2013 on one photo every day for the rest of my life.
