WARREN CONNECTICUT – Another snow covered day, but at least today we have some sunlight.
Day 1,970 of one picture every day for the rest of my life.
On this day four years ago (day 509): Weston. A Cole Weston print. One of my favorite images. Question: How did Clarice get into this position without leaving any marks in the sand? Original posted in color. As usual the black and white image is stronger.
WARREN CONNECTICUT – For some reason today I’ve developed a Zen relationship with the ever-present snow. I’ll be surprised if this doesn’t go down in history as the coldest and most snow-covered February in this area in decades.
Day 1,955 of one photo every day for the rest of my life.
WARREN CONNECTICUT – Let’s discuss New Year’s resolutions. I’ve made the usual ones dealing with weight and prompt response to phone calls and emails, and attention to my loved ones. Not surprisingly I’ve also resolved to continue one picture a day for the rest of my life – I actually expect better compliance with this one than with some of the others.
Exactly a year ago a resolved to make a concerted effort to expand my audience online. The progress that I’ve made during the year has been immensely satisfying. Thanks to all of you for your continuing support and interest in this project.
Despite the good intentions no great insights today from a photographic perspective.
Day 1,904 of a picture a day for the rest of my life.
On this day three years ago (day 808): Taos Mountain. Need I say that this was cold?
NORTHVILLE CONNECTICUT – Feeling like shooting some real man-influenced landscape today. Got this from the parking lot in a local market.
i always pause on December 7, Pearl Harbor Day. Probably because of my almost four years in the Marine Corps; the Pacific war was our war; we were taught the island campaigns in great detail, one foot of bloody sand at a time.
Day 1,879 of one picture every day for the rest of my life.
WARREN CONNECTICUT – I’m dreaming of a white Thanksgiving, just like the ones we used to know . . . .
Here we are after about a foot of snow in the past day. This is completely lovely. We managed some snowshoeing around our other activities which consisted mainly of eating and cooking.
Day 1,869 of one picture every day for the rest of my life.
WARREN CONNECTICUT – I took a break from meeting preparation to take a walk with my Leica Monochrom and 90 mm Elmarit lens. I ended up doing a lot of stitches – the lens was a bit long for most of the subjects that I saw. The example below is three frames stitched.
Day 1,858 of one picture every day for the rest of my life.
KENT and WARREN CONNECTICUT – I’m continuing to experiment with my newly-repaired Leica f.95 Noctilux, shooting landscape and still life wide open, with a neutral density filter if necessary. The results are more dreamy than the hart-edged look that I’ve been cultivating for a lifetime, and thus a really good exercise for me. I’ve also included an image of Baby Victoria, our fabulous 12-month old granddaughter.
Day 1,851 of one picture every day for the rest of my life.
