WARREN CONNECTICUT – I spent a bit of time today looking up with a very wide lens.
Day 1,809 of one picture every day for the rest of my life.
On this day one year ago (day 1,444): Dancers.

WARREN CONNECTICUT – More work with long lenses today. This time the Leica APO-Telyt M 135mm. This lens really does have a lovely signature. Both images today are two frames stitched.
Day 1,795 of one picture every day for the rest of my life.
And finally:
On this day last year (day 1,430): Grass on a perfect early Autumn day.
WARREN CONNECTICUT – Soe here I am experimenting with a Leica APO-Telyt 135mm lens. This lens has a legendary look and strong performance but it is the devil to use on a digital Leica M because the depth of focus is so thin and the 135mm frame in the rangefinder are small. I’ve put a 1.4x magnifier on the viewfinder and I’ve been practicing all day with focus, until I think I have it. Both images below are two frames stitched.
Day 1,794 of one picture every day for the rest of my life.
On this day last year (day 1,429): Good urban light.
NEW YORK NEW YORK and WARREN CONNECTICUT – Still shooting with my Leica Monochrom and 24mm Summilux lens. I seem to be in the zone on my drive this morning from New York to Warren CT.
Day 1,724 of one picture every day for the rest of my life.
On this day two years ago (day 994): Milan.
WARREN and WASHINGTON CONNECTICUT – We dropped in this evening to see our friend Barbara Robinson and to visit her rain-soaked garden, called Brush Hill. The first image below is looking up in our garden; the is from Barbara’s.
As you will see from the tiny red note below the date above this was posted on May 17. Yesterday this site was down for about four hours for maintenance and migration to a new, faster, server. This is a sign of success: the upgrade was in response to increases in traffic. We’re sorry for any inconvenience.
Day 1,668 of one picture every day for the rest of my life.
On this day two years ago (day 938): Outside the ICP. Tree frames stitched.
WARREN CONNECTICUT and NEW YORK NEW YORK – A tale of good light and not so good light today. There were 15 minutes of profoundly beautiful light this afternoon in Connecticut. It was fleeting, as the sun dodged in an out of clouds. I shot what was at hand, a large tree, a mundane subject hereabout, with my Leica Luxochron 50mm lens wide open to blur the background. I ended up stitching three frames. Then later in the evening a dinner parter for a friend of long standing (not pictured here). I only shoot with available light which at dinners is often poor for portraiture. Anyway, here you go.
Day 1,655 of one photo every day for the rest of my life.
On this day four years ago (day 194): Pen Gala.
NEW YORK NEW YORK – In reviewing last year’s work for “on this day one year ago” I came across an image of a building obscured by a tree (scroll down and you’ll find it in Tuesday’s post). I’ve decided to do some more of these, so here is one from today.
