NEW YORK NEW YORK – Still shooting really, really wide with my 15mm Zeiss lens on my Leica Monochrom. Today I was in Union Square shopping in the greenmarket for groceries for a dinner party. The picture below was the best of a poor lot for the day. Another square crop (planned that way in shooting) to get rid of a too-large foreground. It looks “meh” to me but has actually been quite popular on my Twitter feed. I guess I got it wrong on the editing end.
Day 1,730 of one photo every day for the rest of my life.
NEW YORK NEW YORK – A pedestrian day. Pedestrian in the sense that I walked a lot, not that it was commonplace. I walked from Grand Central to the ICP; attended my landscape class (in the printing lab so it was just ok); walked to Paragon to stock up for our forthcoming trip to Switzerland; had lunch at ABC Carpet. Altogether and excellent day. Here’s a chrome man statue that showed up in front of Paragon, taken with my Leica and a 35mm Summilux lens.
Silver Man
NEW YORK, NEW YORK – I took a walk in the Union Square area with my Alpa and the 35mm Schneider. Partly cloudy, but occasional burst of fine light. this is made from two images captured, hand held, and stitched in Photoshop. Remember that I’m shooting with an 80 meg back so the resulting file is very large. Stitching with this very wide lens results in a highly distorted image, which I corrected in Photoshop – a process that involved significant hard labor.

In the evening Alexander and his fiance, Laura, came over for headshot for their wedding announcement in the New York Times. This is the one that the liked – taken with my Panasonic GH2 and on camera flash.
