NEW YORK NEW YORK – I shot around our neighborhood today. Sometimes this time of year the cold crisp days produce lovely light. Sometimes it’s just ordinary daylight. Today I caught ordinary plus, but not quite lovely.

On this day last year (day 1,583): Storm. There are quite of few of these.

NEW YORK NEW YORK – Walking on a side street in the East 80s I came across a construction project: a crane lifting very large sheets of plate glass up to a penthouse.

Day 1,865 of one picture every day for the rest of my life.

On this day four years ago (day 404): Kimball declaims. I re-edited November 23, 2010 and selected a “look up” picture from this date, rather that the one posted four years ago.

NEW YORK NEW YORK – Not a whole lot going on here to day. I hit the street with my camera and tried to generate some excitement, without much success.

Day 1,748 of one picture every day for the rest of my life.

On this day four three years ago (day 652): Lamu, converted from the original to black and white. Lamu was relatively safe three years ago but it’s in a bad neighborhood (15 miles or so from Somalia). Really a shame.

NEW YORK NEW YORK – A day of running around on business and various errands. I tried shooting out of the windows of the various cabs that I took, while they were stopped or sufficiently slowed in traffic to permit decent image quality. As always shooting with my Leica Monochrom and 50mm Luxochron lens.

Day 1,674 of one picture every day for the rest of my life.

On this day last year (day 1.309): Elmhurst. Last year I was in this Taiwanese enclave in Queens.

NEW YORK NEW YORK – I’m headed off to Paris this afternoon; Maria’s going to Stockholm on business; we’re meeting in Copenhagen where we’re having dinner at noma and visiting Louisiana. Not a bad week ahead of us, but this is a travel day and that’s miserable from a photo standpoint. I popped out for croissant for breakfast, taking my Leica Monochrom and 24mm lens. This is the first time that the 50mm Summicron Asph. has been off of the camera in over a month. Here’s an empty playground. It’s hard for me to photograph playgrounds with children because park rules in NY forbid adults without children. We’re expecting a granddaughter in two months so this is about to change.
