WARREN CONNECTICUT – We had the blessing of heavy fog this morning. I strapped my 75mm Summicron lens onto my Leica Monochrom and went to work. This is the first pretty good day of images in a while. All of the images from today are stitched in Photoshop from multiple frames.

The large number of images (five) is presented with apologies – I didn’t know where to start editing.

WARREN CONNECTICUT – I took a brief break from the surge of last minute Christmas prep to catch a couple of images from around our place in the rural town of 1,400 souls in Northwestern Connecticut. Three frames taken with my Leica Monochrome and stitched in Photoshop.

WARREN CONNECTICUT – This morning there was lovely, fog-curtained sunlight on Lake Waramaug. I was there with my Leica Monochrom and 1958 vintage Leica 50mm Dual Range Summmiicron lens, perfect for the occasion, but in reality any camera and lens pointed at anything would produce striking pictures in this light. The tree is six frames stitched.

WARREN CONNECTICUT – Have I mentioned that I’m the cook in our family? And by family I mean the whole extended circus, so the day before Thanksgiving is a heavy day of shopping and prep. I managed to squeeze in a couple of images, still working with my Leica Monochrom and Noctilus f.95 lens with a neutral density filter, which manages to produce magic from mundane scenes.

KENT CONNECTICUT – We took a hike today in Macedonia State Park outside of this village. I’m shooting very wide, with a 15mm Carl Zeiss lens on my Leica Monochrom. The shots from the early part of the hike are actually with my f.95 Noctilus lens fitted with a neutral density filter which permits shooting in daylight at f.95. In other words a day of shooting with heavy, extreme equipment.

WARREN CONNECTICUT – I love this time of year here. The color is gone. The landscape is buttoned down for the winter with the soft perennials cut back to the earth and leaves pilled making leaf mulch for future use. It feels thrifty and fugal. The view is monochrome, which resonates with my way of seeing. The deciduous forrest has become transparent, opening sight lines.

Day 2222 of one photograph every day for the rest of my life. One of the magical-seeming numbers. Day 2222 didn’t feel different that any other.

WARREN CONNECTICUT – Most of the leaves are finally off of the trees, so we’ve got . . . leaves. Also nice light in a powder room.
