NEW YORK NEW YORK – I spent some time testing a new old lens, a 35mm wide angle Summicron (version 1) from 1961, It’s the model that has spectacles built into it so it can be used on a Leica M3, which otherwise doesn’t have frame lines for 35mm. It also fits every rangefinder Leica made since 1954. It turns out that the lens has a lovely character – the rendering are smooth but with plenty of contrast and sharpness. A classic Leica look. One of my new favorite lenses.
